SAFEZONE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

VIRTUAL & SELF-PACED TRAINING

One of our most important club activities is the SafeZone certification program. These trainings give National University students an opportunity to build skills in group facilitation, cultural competence, and event planning, while increasing the LGBTQ+ literacy of our faculty, staff, students, and community.

Ready to get started?

In December 2020, we piloted our first blended in-person and asynchronous SafeZone Training, in response to both COVID-related restrictions and to be more flexible to our busy students at National.  In the new training, participants go through the first part by themselves at their own pace.  They then attend a 1-hr synchronous training (via Zoom) to reflect on and complete their training experience.  You'll be SafeZone certified after completing the course!
  1. Download the Participant Training Packet. Just click!
  2. Watch Part 1 and Part 2 (below) of the self-paced training. Take time to reflect and write down questions and ideas.
  3. Email [email protected] and we'll schedule your synchronous training. Or check our training schedule below!
  4. Attend a single 1-hour training and receive your certificate of completion
  5. Show your academic and professional network how you act as a leader in change and inclusivity
